Program Overview
Differentiating Tourette syndrome from other tic disorders is challenging, but even with the right diagnosis, managing it can be equally complex, due to limited treatment options, and the presence of comorbidities such as ADHD and OCD. For this first program in the series, we are joined by an expert panel of neurologists to explore the differential diagnosis of Tourette syndrome and discuss practical strategies for its current management, selecting therapies, while considering risk of exacerbation of comorbid conditions.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Summarize the characteristics of manifestations of Tourette syndrome to differentiate it from other tic disorders
- Discuss the limitations of current management options for Tourette syndrome in the context of comorbidities and risk of adverse effects from drug therapy
