Privacy Policy

Relias, LLC and its affiliated companies and domains (“Company,” “we,” “our,” and/or “us”) value the privacy of individuals who use our mobile applications, websites, and related services where this privacy policy is posted (collectively, our “Services”). This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and disclose information from users of our Services (“Users”).

By using our Services, you consent and agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and other practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these practices, please do not use our Services. Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of our Services is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We may collect a variety of information (“personal data”) from or about you or your devices from various sources, as described below.

The personal data we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us, the choices you make, and the Services you use. We may collect this information when you provide it to us directly, automatically when you use the Services, and when other sources provide it to us, as further described below.

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

  • Direct interactions. You may give us information about you by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise. This personal data may include:
    • Contact information, such as your first and last name, address, email address, and telephone number.
    • If you sign up for an account, we may ask you for your name, email address, address, phone number, education level, employment specialties, date of birth, license information, photo, gender, job title, employer, work environment, goals, interests, languages spoken, social media accounts, and a narrative bio.
    • If you choose to participate in our surveys, we may ask you for your name, email address, age, gender, race or ethnicity, state of residence, and other questions regarding your education, employment, and professional licenses, specialties, and certifications.
    • Employer or other business information, such as your company name, title and business contact information.
    • Information you provide about your interest in our products and services, such as the Company in which you are interested.
    • If you make a purchase through our Services, your payment-related information, such as credit card or other financial information, is collected by our third-party payment processor on our behalf.
    • Authentication and account information, including your username and password.
    • When you communicate with other users through our Services, we and our third-party partners receive the content of the messages you send and receive and information about those messages, such as when it was sent or received.
    • Any other information you submit when you contact us. When you communicate with us online, third party vendors receive and store these communications on our behalf.
    • If you seek employment with us through our Services or participate in our job placement services, professional and employment related information such as your resume, education level, specialties, employment history, certain non-public information such as your Social Security number or characteristics of protected classifications under state or federal law, and any other information you choose to provide in your employment inquiries or applications.
  • Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our Services, we may automatically collect technical data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns, including the following:
    • Information about the browser and device you use to access the Services, such as device identifiers like IP addresses or MAC addresses, operating system information, operating system information, browser information (such as browser type and browser language), usage information including the date and time of your request, and other information about your interaction with the Services.
    • Information stored in web-based technologies like cookies, pixel tags, log files, or web beacons, including browser type, portions of the online services visited, time spent on the online services, pages visited, referring URLs, links you click on, video browsing, download and purchase activity and data, and other traffic and usage data. For more information on these technologies, please see “Cookies and Automatic Data Collection Technologies” below.
    • Information that indicates your approximate location, including as derived from your IP address.
    • When you use our mobile app, we may receive your precise location information, if you provide your permission. We use your location information to help you connect with nurses near you and discover local hangouts, groups, and nurse events. We also infer your general location information, for example by using your IP address.
    • When we send you emails, we may use embedded pixels or other technologies to track information about your receipt and interaction with our emails, such as whether and when you open them, whether you access any links included in our emails, how long you read our emails, whether you forward our emails and to whom, your location information, and your device information, to learn how to deliver a better customer experience and improve our Services.
    • Other information collected through in-app tracking technologies incorporated into our mobile application, such as unique device identifiers, and other information about your usage of our mobile application.
  • Third parties or publicly available sources.
    • We may receive information about you from third parties including, for example, business partners, subcontractors, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies, data brokers, or aggregators. We may combine this information with other information we have about you.
    • If you choose to link our Services to a third-party account, we may receive information about you, including your profile information and your photo, and your use of the third-party account. If you wish to limit the information available to us, you should visit the privacy settings of your third-party accounts to learn about your options.
  • User contributions. You also may provide information for us to publish or display (“post”) on public Service areas or transmit to other Service users or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). You submit User Contributions for posting and transmission to others at your own risk. Your name, job title, and company will always be viewable and searchable by other users. The content you post to the Services will be displayed on the Services and viewable by other users by default. Although this content is public by default, below in the “Your Choices” section of this Privacy Policy, we describe the controls that you can use, along with other relevant settings associated with your account, to limit the sharing of certain information. We are not responsible for the other users’ use of available information, so you should carefully consider whether and what to post or how you identify yourself on the Services.

Additionally, we cannot control the actions of any Service users with whom you choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that unauthorized persons will not view your User Contributions.

Cookies and Automatic Data Collection Technologies

Our Services use cookies (small files placed on your device) or other automatic data collection technologies to distinguish you from other users. This helps us deliver a better and more personalized service when you browse our Services. It also allows us to improve our Services by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store your preferences so we may customize our Services according to your individual interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
  • Recognize you when you return to our Services.

You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, certain parts of our Services may become inaccessible and certain features may not work correctly.

They may associate the information collected with your personal data or they may collect information, including personal data, about your online activities over time and across different websites or other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control how these third-party tracking technologies operate or how they may use the collected data. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use the information we collect:

  • To provide, maintain, improve, and enhance our Services;
  • To personalize your experience on our Services such as by providing tailored content and recommendations;
  • To understand and analyze how you use our Services and develop new products, services, features, and functionality;
  • To communicate with you, provide you with updates and other information relating to our Services, provide information that you request, respond to comments and questions, and otherwise provide customer support;
  • For marketing and advertising purposes, such as developing and providing promotional and advertising materials that may be relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you;
  • To generate anonymized or aggregate data containing only de-identified, non-personal data that we may use for any lawful purpose, such as to publish reports;
  • To send you text messages and push notifications;
  • To facilitate transactions and payments;
  • To find and prevent fraud and abuse, and respond to trust and safety issues that may arise;
  • For compliance purposes, including enforcing our Terms of Service or other legal rights, or as may be required by applicable laws and regulations or requested by any judicial process or governmental agency; and
  • For other purposes for which we provide specific notice at the time the information is collected.

How We Disclose the Information We Collect

We may disclose your personal data with:

  • Any member of our corporate group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, and our affiliates.
  • Business partners, suppliers, service providers, subcontractors, and other third parties we use to support our business (such as analytics and search engine providers that assist us with website improvement and optimization).
  • Third parties to market their products or services to you if you have not opted out of these disclosures. For more information, see the “Your Choices” section below.
  • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant ads to you and others. [We do not disclose data about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users. We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, clinicians practicing in a specific location). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.]
  • We work with third-party advertising partners to show you ads that we think may interest you. Some of our advertising partners are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (https://optout.networkadvertising.org) or the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info) and serve ads through cookie-based technologies. If you do not wish to receive personalized ads, please visit their opt-out pages to learn about how you may opt out of receiving web-based personalized ads from member companies. These opt-outs will apply only to our third-party advertising partners that are members of these organizations. These opt-outs will not apply when our partners serve ads through non-cookie based technologies. You can access any settings offered by your mobile operating system to limit ad tracking, or you can install the AppChoices mobile app to learn more about how you may opt out of personalized ads in mobile apps.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. For example, if you apply for a job through our Services, we will transmit the contents of your application to the company that posted that job.
  • For any other purposes that we disclose when you provide the data.
  • With your consent.

We may also disclose your personal data to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, where one of the transferred assets is the personal data we hold.
  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including responding to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our employees, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of cybersecurity, fraud protection, and credit risk reduction.

We may disclose non-personal data without restriction.

Your Choices

We strive to provide you with choices regarding certain personal data uses, particularly around marketing and advertising. We have established the following personal data control mechanisms:

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights related to your personal data, including:

  • Access and Data Portability. You may confirm whether we process your personal data and access a copy of the personal data we process. To the extent feasible and required by law, data will be provided in a portable format. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to receive additional information and it will be included in the response to your access request.
  • Correction. You may request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal data that we maintain, taking into account the information's nature and processing purpose.
  • Deletion. You may request that we delete personal data about you that we maintain, subject to certain exception under applicable law.
  • Opt Out of Using Personal Data for Targeted Advertising, Profiling, and Sales. You may request that we do not use your personal data for these purposes.

Important: The exact scope of these rights vary depending on where you live. There are also several exceptions where we may not have an obligation to fulfill your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Other examples of your choices include:

  • We provide you with settings within our Services and your account to allow you to set your sharing preferences for content you post to the Services. To change whether certain information is publicly viewable, you can adjust the settings in your account
  • You can browse our website without registering or directly submitting any information to us (although we may still collect some information automatically, as described above).
  • You can unsubscribe from our promotional emails via the link provided in the emails. Even if you opt out of receiving promotional messages from us, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us.
  • A cookie banner will appear on your screen the first time when you visit our website, or access the website with a new device, allowing you to make choices about our use of cookies. The cookie banner includes a link to our cookie settings preference center.
  • You may change your browser settings to block, manage, or delete cookies. The means by which you can refuse cookies through your web-browser may vary from browser to browser and you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information. In some cases, blocking or disabling cookies may cause the Services not to work as intended and some features may not be available.

Do Not Track. Our Services do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

Data Retention

We keep the personal data described in this policy for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described or for as otherwise legally permitted or required, such as maintaining the Services, operating our Company, complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and for safety, security, and fraud prevention. This means that we consider our legal and business obligations, potential risks of harm, and nature of the information when deciding how long to retain personal data.

Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your personal data from accidental loss or destruction and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. However, because no electronic transmission or storage of information can be entirely secure, we can make no guarantees as to the security or privacy of your information. Any transmission of personal data through our Services is at your own risk.

Our Services may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers, and affiliates, or include plug-ins enabling third-party features. If you follow a link to any third-party website or engage a third-party plug-in, please note that these third parties have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these third parties.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal data from children under 16 years of age, and no part of our Services is directed to children. If you learn that a child has provided us with personal data in violation of this Privacy Policy, then you may alert us by contacting us at the Security Center.

International Visitors

Our Services are hosted in the United States. We may process, store, and transfer the personal data we collect, in and to a country outside your own, with different privacy laws that may or may not be as comprehensive as your own. By submitting your personal data or using the Services, you consent to this transfer, processing, or storing.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We will post any adjustments to the Privacy Policy on this page, and the revised version will be effective when it is posted. If we materially change the ways in which we use or disclose personal data previously collected from you through the Services, we will notify you through the Services, by email, or other communication.
