Target Audience
This activity is designed specifically for dermatologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants involved in the care of patients with atopic dermatitis.
Program Overview
In recent years, improved understanding of atopic dermatitis has led to the development of novel therapies that have improved quality of life and outcomes for patients. However, management remains challenging, and dermatologists may not be aware of the latest advances in the field and how they fit into existing treatment paradigms and individualized care plans. In this CME activity, expert faculty will discuss the pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis; best practices for assessment and diagnosis; and current and emerging treatment options for individuals with moderate-to-severe disease, including biologic and small molecule therapies. Questions and lessons learned from a recent practice-based CME/CE initiative will also be shared.
The content for this enduring activity was recorded on August 5, 2024.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Explain the pathophysiology and immunologic factors associated with atopic dermatitis
- Summarize the safety and efficacy data of current and emerging treatment options for atopic dermatitis
- Apply current evidence and recommendations into individualized treatment plans for patients with atopic dermatitis
- Integrate current guideline recommendations to screen and manage comorbidities in patients with atopic dermatitis
