Program Overview
Rett syndrome may be rare, but timely recognition and intervention can make a lasting impact. With the FDA approval of the first treatment for Rett syndrome in both children (age 2 and older) and adults, clinicians now have new tools to support patients and families. In this introductory session, a neurologist, pediatrician, and neurology nurse will share key strategies to recognize early signs of RTT, understand the role of new therapies, and counsel caregivers while setting meaningful, individualized goals. Real-world case examples and shared decision-making scenarios will highlight the evolving care journey for people with Rett syndrome. Join us to get the knowledge you need to confidently care for patients at every stage—starting with the very first signs.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Identify early signs and symptoms of RTT to facilitate timely diagnoses
- Explain the latest findings on available therapies for RTT and impacts on key RTT symptoms
- Describe strategies to counsel patients and caregivers about treatment expectations with new therapies for RTT and set individualized treatment goals
