In this activity, 2 patients chronicle their experiences with Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), detailing their diagnostic and treatment journeys and the impact inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has on their life. Meanwhile, Emily B. Williams, APRN, FNP-C discusses best practices for advanced practice providers (APPs) in assessing IBD severity, risk stratification, and treatment personalization. She details the role APPs fill in educating and empowering patients to become active participants in their care journey.
