Target Audience

This activity is designed for APCs—i.e., NPs and PAs, and oncology nurses who treat HR+ HER2- EBC.

Program Overview

Adjuvant CDK4/6 inhibitors reduce recurrence risk in high-risk HR+, HER2- early breast cancer—yet adherence and toxicity management remain critical challenges. This on-demand program empowers oncology nurses and NPs with practical strategies to translate evidence into patient-centered care.

Through case-based learning and expert insights, participants will strengthen skills in recurrence risk assessment, proactive monitoring and management of adverse events (including neutropenia, GI toxicities, and ILD/pneumonitis), dose adjustment principles, and nursing-led interventions that promote long-term adherence and persistence. Downloadable quick-reference tools reinforce real-world application.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Incorporate clinical evidence on CDK4/6 inhibitor-containing adjuvant therapy into treatment plans for patients with high-risk hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) early breast cancer (EBC)
  • Develop supportive approaches to proactively monitor and mitigate adverse events (AEs) associated with CDK4/6 inhibitor-containing regimens in patients with HR+, HER2- EBC
  • Implement multidisciplinary strategies to improve patient adherence and persistence to adjuvant CDK4/6 inhibitor therapies, including patient-centered nursing approaches
