Program Overview
This activity will translate guideline recommendations into practical workflows for potassium monitoring and hyperkalemia management in patients with heart failure, while evaluating evidence-based strategies to balance RAASi optimization with effective potassium control. Through engaging discussions and real-world considerations, the session will also highlight the importance of integrating potassium binders into patient care plans, with emphasis on safety, adherence, and overcoming real-world barriers, and will apply multidisciplinary and patient-centered approaches to optimize outcomes in patients with heart failure at risk of hyperkalemia.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this activity, learners will be better able to:
- Translate guideline recommendations into practical workflows for potassium monitoring and hyperkalemia management in patients with heart failure
- Evaluate evidence-based strategies to balance RAASi optimization with effective hyperkalemia control in patients with heart failure
- Integrate potassium binders effectively into patient care plans, with emphasis on safety, adherence, and real-world barriers
- Apply multidisciplinary and patient-centered approaches to optimize outcomes in patients with heart failure at risk of hyperkalemia
