Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of neurologists and epileptologists.
Program Overview
This activity will cover the role of genetic testing in the diagnosis and management of Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies (DEE), including indications for testing, comparison of epilepsy gene panels and whole exome sequencing, and how genetic findings inform precision treatment strategies.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Understand a patient’s unique genetic profile to tailor antiepileptic medications and other therapies to best suit individual needs.
- Recognize when to seek genetic testing for DEE and respective global guidelines.
