Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of Practicing Physicians and Urologists, Oncologists, Healthcare Professionals in Multidisciplinary Teams involved in the treatment of patients with bladder cancer.
Program Overview
Bladder cancer remains a prevalent and significant healthcare challenge, with non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) constituting a substantial portion of cases. Among these, carcinoma in situ (CIS) represents a high-risk entity characterized by a heightened probability of recurrence, progression, and mortality. Given the aggressive nature of NMIBC, it is imperative that healthcare providers (HCPs) stay informed about the latest advancements in diagnostic modalities and treatment options. This continuing medical education (CME) activity aims to equip HCPs with the latest knowledge and clinical insights on diagnosing high-grade CIS. The program will also provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of CIS management, equipping them with the knowledge needed to optimize patient outcomes through evidence-based, patient-centric approaches.
Learning Objectives
- Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss how to diagnose high-grade CIS by differentiating lesions from normal tissue.
- Utilize assistive technologies to enhance CIS detection.
- Explain how to apply current guidelines to perform prostate cancer biopsies in patients with high-risk tumors and positive cytology.
- Identify promising standard-of-care alternatives with improved survival and reduced side effects that maintain quality of life.
- Describe how to incorporate immunotherapy options based on the latest clinical evidence.
