Alzheimer’s disease affects more than 7 million people in the U.S. and is expected to double by 2060. Critically, many racial and ethnic disparities exist along the entire Alzheimer’s care continuum.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Describe the variation in AD prevalence across race, gender, and other demographic factors.
- Identify and interpret emerging diagnostic tools that can facilitate earlier and more accurate diagnosis of AD.
- Evaluate clinical appropriateness of available disease-modifying treatments for AD.
- Apply best practices for communicating about dementia and screening for AD with patients and caregivers, with sensitivity to cultural, emotional, and systemic barriers.
