Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) healthcare professionals (HCPs) and other HCPs who are interested in improving outcomes for women with obesity.
Program Overview
This CME-accredited Special Issue, A Woman’s Walk Through Obesity Management: Navigating Pathways of Care, features three peer-reviewed articles by leading experts Samantha Schon, MD, MTR, Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, and Domenica Rubino, MD, founder and Director of the Washington Center for Weight Management & Research in Arlington, VA.

After reading the 3 articles in the Special Issue Supplement, readers can put their knowledge into practice in our series of interactive videos. Each video features a different example of a woman living with obesity, and learners will sit in the driver’s seat to make choices on the most appropriate approaches to care, following each individual’s journey
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Prioritize obesity as a chronic, progressive disease requiring long-term management to improve women’s health outcomes
- Apply recommended approaches for screening, diagnosis, and documentation of obesity
- Discuss obesity and its management with women in a respectful and nonstigmatizing way
- Implement individualized, evidence-based obesity treatment strategies that consider factors specific to women’s health at different times in life, to help women with obesity achieve long-term health benefits
