Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of pediatric neurologists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, advanced practice practitioners, speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and pediatricians.
Program Overview
Rett syndrome is complex and lifelong, requiring a collaborative care model to address evolving needs across childhood and adulthood. In this expert-led session, neurologists, a speech therapist, and a physical/occupational therapist will review the latest data on newly approved therapies and their impact on communication and motor skills. The panel will offer strategies for building personalized treatment plans, managing adverse events, and strengthening collaboration across disciplines to improve quality of life for patients with RTT. Join us to hear about strategies to improve care coordination and overcome barriers to accessing multidisciplinary care for patients with Rett syndrome.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Review the latest evidence on newly approved therapies for RTT, including impacts on communication and motor skills
- Develop treatment plans for individuals with RTT that incorporate speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy
- Discuss how best to collaborate with local clinicians to address multidisciplinary care needs from childhood to adulthood for those with RTT
