Tackling the Opioid Crisis: Strategies to Improve Best Practices and Patient Outcomes

Opioid use and abuse for acute and chronic pain is a significant problem in the US, yet gaps in pain care and opioid prescribing continue to exist. In this three-part series, expert faculty will review ways to assess and manage acute and chronic pain, guideline recommendations for the appropriate use of opioid therapy, and evidence-based strategies for recognizing and treating opioid use disorder.

This program meets most states’ requirements for opioid education and is fully compliant with the Opioid Analgesic Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) education requirement issued by the FDA in September 2018. It will also count towards the new Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirement for opioid education.
