Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of allergists, immunologists, pediatricians, and primary care clinicians (including physicians, PAs, and nurse practitioners). It may also benefit other clinicians and healthcare professionals who are involved in the management of patients with asthma.
Program Overview
This interactive animated infographic provides an overview of the GINA guidelines for diagnosis and management of severe asthma, an examination of the current biologic therapies to treat severe asthma, and a review of the importance of a written asthma action plan.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the differences between the approved add-on biologic therapies for uncontrolled severe asthma
- Individualize treatment regimens in alignment with current guidelines for add-on maintenance biologic therapy to optimize control of asthma, with a focus on health equity
