This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses and pharmacists.
Program Overview
The goal of this educational activity is to equip and empower oncology pharmacists and nurses with the knowledge, confidence, competence, and tools/resources necessary to recognize clinical hallmarks of VHL and serve vital patient-facing roles across the multidisciplinary treatment continuum, including the safe, effective, and patient-centric implementation of novel pharmacotherapeutics for management of VHL-associated tumors.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Review hallmark clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria, and expert consensus best practices for active surveillance of von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease across the patient lifespan.
- Evaluate the clinical trial evidence in support of novel systemic therapy approaches to treating VHL-associated tumors, highlighting regulatory milestones and the paradigmatic placement of approved agents.
- Design individualized, data-driven treatment plans for patients with VHL-associated tumors, with a focus on patient selection and management of treatment-related adverse events.
