Target Audience
This activity is intended for US-based obstetrician-gynecologists and other healthcare professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients with UF.
Program Overview
This educational activity is focused on understanding the prevalence and management of uterine fibroids (UF). Using a combination of Whiteboard Preceptorship, podcast episodes, and personalized posters, participants will learn about the various treatment options for UF, including medical and surgical interventions. The program will dive deeper into novel clinical approaches to UF treatment, including combination therapies with gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists for UF management. Additionally, the program will emphasize the importance of, and steps for, shared decision-making in short- and long-term management of UF.
Educational Objectives
After participating in this program, participants will be better able to:
- Explain the need for novel therapeutic approaches to the management of UFs based on the challenges associated with standard of care medical therapies
- Describe results from clinical trials assessing the efficacy and safety of newly-approved and emerging combination therapies that include GnRH antagonists for the long-term management of UFs
- Evaluate the contributions of new clinical guidance and shared decision-making approaches to the development of management plans for patients with UFs
