Patients with plexiform neurofibromas (PN) associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) experience considerable morbidity, a poor quality of life, and increased mortality. Research efforts have led to earlier diagnosis, new monitoring approaches, emerging treatment options, and considerations for surgical intervention. To this end, it is critical that pediatric oncologists as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team neurologists caring for patients with NF1-PN are up to date on recent advances. In this live webinar, Dr. Amy Armstrong will utilize case-based discussion to address the heterogeneity and complexity of this condition as well as considerations for the use of emerging therapies when making individualized management decisions among diverse patients.
