Case by Case: Reviewing Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease
It is important to identify patients at risk for progressive fibrotic interstitial lung disease (PF-ILD) because of the associated increased morbidity and mortality. Clinicians need to distinguish between forms of ILD to appropriately monitor, diagnose, and manage PF-ILD. In this Case Consults™ series, the expert faculty discuss diagnosis and treatment of 3 distinct cases of PF-ILD including hypersensitivity pneumonitis, rheumatoid arthritis-associated ILD, and fibrotic lung disease arising post-COVID infection. Additional expert consultants in environmental exposures, rheumatology, genetics, and radiology add their expertise to the case discussions.
