Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of US-based otolaryngology clinicians (MDs/DOs/NPs/PAs) and US-based allergy/immunology clinicians (MDs/DOs/NPs/PAs).

Program Overview

Join otolaryngologist Joseph K. Han, MD and allergist/immunologist Eileen Wang, MD, MPH for a case-based look at the application of guideline recommendations in the management of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). These experts will discuss guideline recommendations with regard to surgery vs maximal medical management, using case studies of several challenging patients with CRSwNP, to illustrate key guideline take-aways.

For each case, expert panelists will discuss:

  • Patient presentations, treatment histories, and treatment goals
  • Impact of NPs on comorbidity outcomes and vice versa
  • Surgery vs maximal medical therapy
  • Comparison of effects of biologic therapy on patient-important outcomes
  • Guideline-directed shared decision-making

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Apply current EPOS/EUFOREA and Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters clinical guidelines on managing CRSwNP into treatment decisions for case studies
