This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of internists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers involved in the care of patients with COPD.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify risk factors, signs, and symptoms of COPD that warrant a high index of suspicion and further evaluation across diverse patient subsets
- Formulate evidence-based treatment plans for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) based on symptom severity and exacerbation history
- Devise COPD treatment plans that accord with patients’ needs, capabilities, and preferences
