Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are involved in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe efficacy and safety data for existing, new, and emerging treatments for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)
  • Select individualized IBD treatments that maximize the opportunity to achieve remission, avoid relapse, and minimize complications
  • Employ ongoing monitoring strategies assessing treatment goals and implement changes in treatment plans as appropriate
  • Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
